Any recent thoughts on Highbury Fields secondary (London)?

Highbury Fields is probably our closest secondary school -- outstanding Ofsted, but little talked about on mumsnet. Any experience here with the school?

My DD is in year 11. We’ve had no problems with the school. She’s ND & they’ve been very helpful & supportive. She’s had some great trips & a really positive learning experience.
The staff genuinely seem to care about the children & they appear to have good pupil/staff relationships. The only annoyance is the delay in responding to emails. It can take over a week to get a response.

My DD is year 10 at this school. We just had parents evening last week. It’s a good school in my opinion. They work the girls hard, have high expectations of behaviour and have good connections with the local community. A drama course was held at The Almeida for example, music work at the Rose Bowl. My daughter is off to see Six tonight, and next month is off to see Carmen at the Royal Opera House for the princely sum of £10.
in March they went to Geneva to CERN on a physics trip.
Do ask if you have specific questions.

Wow such lovely feedback -- thank you! I wonder why it's not more popular locally (at least in the chat, which all seems obsessed with Mary Mags?)

There was an obsession with Mary Mags when my DD was at primary too. I don’t know if it’s the Aptitude tests that bring out the middle class sharp elbowed competitiveness.
My DD, like that of PP is also ND. She wouldn’t have passed the aptitude tests and I didn’t want to put her through it.
she arrived at HFS with a reading age of 9 and now has a reading age of 17.
I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s not fashionable like Mary Mags but it’s been great for my daughter. I do see the girls thrive in a single sex atmosphere which was also important to me.

Hi sorry to jump on this thread but I’m really interested and encouraged to hear these experiences. I have a dyslexic girl who is going into year four, struggles with reading and spelling, so would love to hear more about how they have supported your daughter @Runningandsearching and @Inmyownlittlecorner
