Oh, they're not allowed to submit a home movie then?

Freckle · 17/05/2008 15:25

Oh dear. Well at least you could have fun with that one!

foxinsocks · 17/05/2008 15:26

ha! sounds brilliant. I've been amazed by what they do at school these days. Am so pleased they do all of this.

pointydog · 17/05/2008 15:27

Saturn74 · 17/05/2008 15:27

Stanley Sperm woke up one morning, feeling an unusual sense of excitement....

seeker · 17/05/2008 15:30

I have resisted the temptation to tell her to start "Frank Sperm woke up one morning feeling that this was his lucky day...."!

I think it is a great idea........

I have done a similar thing for digestion before now

robinpud · 17/05/2008 15:34

Can it be a photo story ?

seeker · 17/05/2008 15:35

We're a pretty liberal family - but I draw the line a practical demonstrations. Especially on camera......!

Get them to watch the beginning of look whos talking, and then make a storyboard from it.

NutterlyUts · 17/05/2008 15:52

LOL

NutterlyUts · 17/05/2008 16:00

LOL again
Last one, promise

badgermonkey · 17/05/2008 16:03

This is a pretty standard homework, actually. I know my husband, who is a science teacher has set it before as we have had a good giggle over some of the responses (in a nice way, of course). They can be awfully creative and tongue-in-cheek, can year 7!

ScienceTeacher · 17/05/2008 17:17

I haven't done this particular journey. The journey of the cheeseburger is fairly common, but I think the sperm one would all be over in, what, 30 seconds?

Whizzz · 17/05/2008 17:20

"after a promising start, my adventures were unfortunately curtailed by a strange rubber barrier I could not defeat..."

ivykaty44 · 17/05/2008 17:20

some sperms may be called sally sperm and they could hang around waiting for the eggs - what would they do whilst waiting?

Sharpen their heads?
do push ups?

mindless random thoughts..........

popsycal · 17/05/2008 17:36

She needs to get on the trying to conceive a girl/boy threads - one or the other type of sperm is bigger but slower moving than the other and the other one survives longer before ovulation due to acidic (or not acidic - can't remember which) of the uterus - could get very technical

Trouble is, she's taking it very seriously - it's dp and I who are having to supress childish giggles! Especially after reading this thread!
