Surface/Transfer/Deep school report

Hi All! My daughter's school uses Surface/Transfer/Deep marking scheme instead of a grade, which is a bit confusing! She used to be mainly greater depth at Primary school and now in Year 7 is getting mostly deep with a couple of transfer grades. Would you expect a child working at greater depth to receive transfer? Her attitude to learning is very good/excellent in all subjects.

How far over "greater depth" was she?

There's a big difference between scoring 115 (top 15%) and scoring 140 (top 1%)

Also I'd factor in things like a school wanting low incoming grades so they can demonstrate how amazing they are at improving the kids.

My DD was assessed as going into reception as just exceeding expectation. She was reading Year 6 books (which yes, she could comprehend) and knew her tables (and not by rote).

Lo and behold within a few years she had moved up to be top 1% of national scoring and WOW look at how well the school has done in terms of that progress.

I'm debating mulling over her having the flu for SATS week because the school have had perfect Year 6 SATS papers from her since Year 4 and are sitting on their hands thinking they've nailed it. I think not.

She started Primary school with "working at age expected level" grades apart from greater depth reading. She was born in August, so took a while to catch up. She has been greater depth since Year 4.
I'm just wondering if she's gone down to working at age expected level or could she still be greater depth getting marked deep? She is in the second top set.

Honestly, I'd just wait until parents evening and ask her teachers. If you don't understand the grading method, you should be able to get clarification surely?
