Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of PGHS? It seems like a good school but how are the extra curricular trips and do enough girls come from Grange Park area?
Thank you

Yes. My daughter has been there since year 7. I can’t recommend it enough. Girls travel from lots of areas, including many locally.Lots of extra trips. Skiing annually, many theatre and other opportunities including DofE etc. My daughter has excelled academically in the small class sizes. Any issues are dealt with quickly and the girls encouraged to have open minds and be independent. Also not having a sixth form means they are very focused on investing in the girls future academic journey. I can not fault it. It does exactly what it says on the tin and it’s easy to see why the GCSE results are consistently excellent. Also it’s the Sunday Times Private School of the year if helpful.

We have good knowledge of the school and I would recommend the school. I think it being a small school means that teachers get to know the girls very well and support their individual need.

Love, love, LOVE this school. My daughter had a terrible time at a popular academic London secondary school - was bullied by staff and girls and was quite traumatized - so we moved her to PGHS. She loves her teachers and the school. There is plenty of academic rigor with engaged and interested teachers. There were a number of staff changes last year - staff who had been at the school for a while and were somewhat jaded left and happily, all the new staff who my daughter has been taught by, are excellent! We particularly love the two new deputy heads who are amazing and who make themselves accessible to the girls. There are issues that arise - some girls are mean - teenage girls can be horrible - but any problems - bullying, unkindness etc are dealt with promptly. The school is great with difference - they are really helpful and accommodating for bright, quirky girls. Additionally, the small class sizes mean that the girls can have quite a bespoke education, with additional support or rigor as and when needed. Negatives are that there is a lot of homework and you/your child need to speak up if they are having academic issues. Once the school knows about the issues it will deal with them!

My eldest daughter (now at Uni) went all the way through and my 2nd is in year 6 about to go into the senior school. It's great because each child is really well known because the class sizes and school is small. They push everyone according to their ability. Lots of extra help if you ask for it/need it. And a very happy school I would say. And plenty of fun too on the trips and outside school activities.
