School offer day: what time?

ghqpabks · 01/03/2025 09:13

Our LA usually updates the portal at midnight, I stayed awake last time I went through it. Last time I want to say the school offer day was a Tuesday so I stayed up on the Monday night. This time it's the 3rd so I assume our portal will be updated on Sunday night, anyone else know for their area?

(Our website doesn't actually say, only gives the date).

North Yorks here. And no email but offered choice is showing on the portal.
We got what we wanted.

We are in Warwickshire, got the offer at midnight. 6th place school offered- gutted! We applied for grammar and I can’t see how to view what the AQS is for the Warwickshire grammar schools- more importantly what the minimum waiting list score is- do you know where I can see this info?

Also, how did you come to know about these early reports of the AQS being higher in Warwickshire this year? Curious! x

Sorry to hear that- keeping my fingers crossed for the waiting lists for you! There can be quite a lot of movement so there is hope.

I'd say the 11 plus forum for Warwickshire is probably the best place to look- people will have worked out what the qualifying scores are likely to be based on what posters have scored and the offers they have even if they're not officially released yet, and they'll have links to all the information when it is published.

I didn’t stay awake in the end but offers were loaded on after midnight and we’ve got first choice!

Daisydiary · 03/03/2025 07:07

Came through at 2am, first choice.

TooManyNiblings · 03/03/2025 07:14

Our council website specifically says portal updates at 10am but I've still checked anyway!!! I don't know if I will get an email as well or not.

Leicestershire will be 10am this year accordingly to a LCC social media post. So a bit longer to wait.

Email just in from Leicestershire 😀phew!

7:14 am here. Happy with it

AliceMcK · 03/03/2025 08:07

Came through at 7.30am. First choice, older sister now not happy 😂

shockeditellyou · 03/03/2025 08:10

Good luck all, especially to those who haven’t got what you wanted. Hold your nerve - we went through this last year and got in via waiting lists.

fairydust11 · 03/03/2025 08:14

First choice, so relieved.
I logged on at midnight & then went to sleep. Good luck everyone still waiting to hear.

Araminta1003 · 03/03/2025 08:16

Unfortunately we are in London and for older DC it was always after 5pm! Sometimes closer to 6pm. Long day ahead potentially.

Warwickshire AQS look weird this year - published number for RHS is 213 but lowest offer made is 222.

The outer circle for LSS has jumped from 217 last year to 232.

People being turned down on 258 for KEGS.

It's mad out there!

No indication of individual school waitlist yet.

Nothing yet here in Bromley. I'm refreshing the website every 3 seconds but I guess I have few more hours of waiting....😫

Dinnerplease · 03/03/2025 11:40

Bromley will be at 5pm along with all other London and Kent schools. You can stop refreshing!

Elfie23 · 03/03/2025 12:50

On the dot of 10:00am here - first choice ☺️

Shushquite · 03/03/2025 13:27

Oh no. My aunt called and asked me which school ds1 got. I was all cool, having jumbled up the dates in my calendar. I must have wrote 30th March to avoid this worry. Ds1 hadn't mentioned it either.

My aunt lives close by and twice she didn't get place for her dc. She had to wait few more months to get place for her dc. Her youngest got a space no problem.

Shushquite · 04/03/2025 09:41

The email arrived at 20:38 for us. Ds got the fourth choice.

LoudSnoringDog · 04/03/2025 09:48

We could see the offer on Birmingham LEA portal on Saturday morning so knew that DD had her first choice. We are very close to the school in distance so was always reasonably optimistic anyway.

From the class group chat I can see a couple of disappointed parents but not many. Most got first or second choice

Hi, lss explain their schools admission policy on their website, catchment areas are considered first, there’s an inner priority and outer priority. The lowest offer given may have been to an inner priority child, hope that makes sense - definately take a look at their admission criteria it makes a lot more sense when you read through x

Sorry, yes I get how the categories work. Our son goes there. We are outer priority.

I was referring to the jump from 217 for cat 5 last year to 232 this year, although I know of a child who had an offer considerably lower than 232 (no EHCP, not looked after, not pupil premium etc) from cat 5.

Wondering if the document from WCC has errors.
