Any recommendations on good state secondary schools in or around Bath and surrounding areas. Daughter is autistic but goes to mainstream independent. Quite young emotionally, loves drama and Music but easily overwhelmed. Looking for good SEN and pastoral care.

are you connected to representsend.co.uk? They are North Somerset based and have a what’s app group that is very useful. I am a bit far out from Bath to have useful info, but plenty in the group are in your area.

Hayesfield is the girls state school in Bath, brilliant for the arts, very academic. SEND provision is very good.

Ralph Allen is struggling to afford teachers, has Tech teachers teaching year 7 English.

Don't know much about Oldfield Park.

St. Greg's is Catholic, I don't really know it.

To the South, Writhlington is completely set up for computer based learning.

Somervale is smaller, quite poor behaviour.

Norton Hill is very large, but with a brilliant pastoral system of houses. The SEND provision is very good. Excellent performing arts (the Upper School did the Crucible recently).

There are also the Studio Schools as well. These are less academic but much smaller.

Apart from Oldfield Park, St. Greg's and Ralph Allen, all the others mentioned are in the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership MAT.

Broadlands Academy in Keynsham has good SEN provision and pastoral care. It's also a small school.

Thankyou very much for all your advice, I will check out Norton Hill, Broadlands and Writhlington. Its very hard as they all seem so huge!
