My DC is in year 10 did not do as well in the end of term tests before Christmas as had hoped.

They have asked me to help so we are going to try to do little and often from this point. They already have maths tutoring so not going to touch that (thank goodness!).

Can people recommend revision guides or are there really good free videos anywhere?

Also is it easy to find past papers on line?

Its parents evening next week so I’ll ask teachers also. But thought people might be able to direct me?

Thanks!!!

You can down load past papers online.

Think about using workbooks and practice books from Amazon - just make sure you get the right exam board.
Make your own flashcards.
There are online revision websites you can subscribe to.
There are some really good free YouTubers for all subjects and they often also explain how to get the easy marks, how to structure answers and how to pass each paper.

Everybody learns differently, so it’s a matter of finding what suits the learner.

Revision guides are really good. World of books - second hand. Make sure you get right exam board. But what do they need help with, because there is so much you could do it needs to be narrowed down a bit.

That is what I need to find out at parents evening. Its a mixed bag of good marks in things like essay writing but struggles with recalling information for subjects like science/maths.

That’s a good insight. Loads of testing and practice papers then. Has he got Seneca or something? Memory easier to rectify so that is good. Great you are starting in year 10 - plenty of time

There’s science and maths teachers on YouTube who do lessons as well as talk through past papers. eg FreeScienceLessons is a popular one.
