French GCSE vocab YouTube video help

My DD is doing GCSE French privately and I wondered if there is anything online that might help her with the vocab immersion. I am specifically thinking something like the French equivalent of the Buongiorno Italia - videos, so where there are real French people doing role play type things for vocabulary.

Or just anything where there are eg French teens doing daily stuff with handy vocab. I know such videos exist but my brain is drawing a blank. Or even a teen French series.

At school we had Tricolore but I can’t find any of those videos or audio online.

MFL is my subject and we used to watch Extras in French (and German) with the students sometimes. We had a DVD but I see it is available on YouTube. It's kind of like Friends and quite funny.

Not sure how much it would help for GCSE tbf, except in a very generic way. Is she sitting it next summer? If so, the best thing is focus on grammar, verbs and vocab and lots and lots of practice papers. Plus schooling in exam technique – that's especially important if she is doing it privately. Does she have a tutor? Do they have good knowledge of the exam? I ask bc IME many (or some at least) do not or do not seem to, so that private candidates (I am an examiner) are not always well prepared.

The "Inner French" podcasts are very good. They are on Spotify.

Thanks so much all. I will check all these out.

@clary yes she does have a tutor, and even better, the tutor is also an examiner so she was a really lucky find. So she is in good hands but I was thinking that some listening videos might be good for tuning the brain to French. Extras looks good - it may be the one DD watched a bit when she did French at school.

It is good to know that grammar, verbs and vocab are the best preparation because all of her homework is focussed on this so I will start testing her on these in between lessons.

That's great re her tutor; she should be all set then.

I am sure the tutor will say this but for listening practice, which is the hardest to source, it's fine to use legacy exam papers and papers from other boards. Obv the format will be different, but someone speaking French is someone speaking French and answering questions on it is always going to be helpful. Best of luck to her.

Hasn’t your tutor suggested anything? They know the exam and your daughter’s level better than anyone.
