Curious as which is the better school for teaching. I know on paper that MH has better results and much better facilities.

Assuming you are talking Senior school I would say Mill Hill for all the reasons you note and more

What other reasons please?

My kids didn't attend either school but we know people who have. Neither school is a target for the very brightest and best of the north London area; however Mill Hill does have excellent facilities and gives a good private school experience for middling-all rounders. There is a lot of compulsory sport.
In our limited experience NBH seems to have a reputation of being somewhere more nurturing, where children who have struggled elsewhere tend to go.

Go have a look at both schools. I know children at both. I do know some top set at Mill Hill who are really bright and have turned down places at more selective schools but yes both are mixed ability. As for NBH, if you mean Hampstead, I personally found it to be private school fees for an experience more akin to a local state (and that's no diss to state schools I'm just not sure why you'd pay for it). I also know some parents who are unhappy with the teaching and support at NBH and don't feel their children are being stretched. But go take a look, if possible try to see it on a regular day and look in on lessons or hang around in reception and get a feel

They are very different schools and have a different demographic but definitely worth looking at both and seeing how you feel, where your child feels at home. NBH Canonbury has a different feel from Hampstead - my son has had a consistently excellent experience at NBHC - joining at year 7 then going into lockdown soon after, he nonetheless made a really good group of friends and gained an impressive set of GCSE results. He has always felt known and appreciated as an individual, so much so that he has stayed on for sixth form.
In our experience, the teaching has been very good and they do know their students well. It’s been a really lovely, supportive community - sure, not as many bells and whistles as at bigger schools, but there’s plenty going on. Drama and music are first rate, for example. Plenty of stretch for the academically ambitious and equally good support for those who need some extra help.
