How to compare secondary schools using government site

I'm trying to get to grips with the performance tables on the government website. I can work out how to look at school performance by prior attainment, and by girls'/boys' performance.

I have a high-achieving boy who is working at greater depth across all relevant subjects at primary - but when I rank by high prior attainment I get inevitably get a very different set of results compared to when I rank by boys' results only.

Is it possible to isolate performance results for more than one group at a time i.e. compare performance of high prior achieving boys across schools?

Many thanks for any pointers anyone is able to give.

No, you can only rank by one variable at a time.

In any case, it's daft to choose schools based on the ranking of exam results for cohorts several years older than your own. The rankings vary from year to year, can be significantly impacted by a small number of children with low attendance, and so much can change staffing-wise between now and when your child sits their GCSE's. Don't sweat it.

By the way, the 2024 data will be out later this month - usually just before the deadline for secondary school applications - probably best not to look. 🙃

Thanks for confirming this can't be done. I'm aware things can change a lot and other things matter to me as well as academic attainment but am trying to build up as full a picture as possible. We are new to the area so don't have a lot of local contacts to help us do that.
