Does anyone know if it’s academic interview or just what hobbies you have, that sort of thing?

I wish someone would give some advice on this one 🙏

@luludzing, my post below maybe out of date as DD interviewed there for 2022 year 7 entry (she didn't get in)

Interview was semi academic - some general chit-chat about how DD spends her free time, what she likes etc. But also subsequently two interviews -

One on reading comprehension. DD read a passage from a story, took notes and then answered questions about the passage. Second interview was on logic puzzle solving (knight and knave kind of puzzles)

The year before (covid year, online interviews), another parent told me that her DD was asked philosophical questions like - 'should animals have rights?', 'Is it better to be a clever coward than a brave fool?' etc

My understanding is that the school tries to make the interviews tutoring- proof by changing it every year.

Good luck to your daughter!

"My understanding is that the school tries to make the interviews tutoring- proof by changing it every year"

Based on our 2023 sample, the format appears to be unchanged from 2022:

General chat
Reading passage
Brain teaser (or puzzle)
One philosophical question

Tutoring these types of interview questions often leads to minimal improvement or can even be counterproductive, so there's no real benefit of changing it every year.
