Fun maths for KS3???

Hi,
in short : are there any fun maths apps or websites suitable for the end of year 8?

my DC has, for the first time, received a working towards grade for maths in his end of Y8 report. I’m worried as obviously it’s not something he can give up in his options.
Personally I do think he’s capable but he just doesn’t put the effort in as he can’t be bothered. School uses Dr Frost but, unless watched like a hawk (which I try to do often) he doesn’t really try to get it right but just to get an answer and move on so he can finish it.
Over the summer I want him to practice maths but I wonder if there’s anything remotely fun in terms of an app or website? In junior school, he used TT Rock Stars and Mathletics but I don’t think they’re what he needs now.
Thanks

Thanks, I will look into that. I’m not confident I can find the right
level for him, looking at the school syllabus its quite vague. But I’ll have a look.

What on earth does 'working towards' mean end of y8 in terms of predicted GCSE grade?

Working towards being in a position to pass end y11? Or working towards heading for a 6?

Can't tell how concerned you should be.

Well this is part of the problem. It says he’s at a level below his peers but not whether that’s his peers in his set, the school or probably the country. I’ve asked for some clarification.

@ThanhTuan this original question is over a year old so I'm not sure the original poster still needs advice. I have reported your post to Mumsnet so they can take a look at it, as it seems likely that this is advertising.

There are a few options that work well for end-of-Year 8, especially if motivation is the issue rather than ability. Khan Academy, MangaHigh, and IXL are good for structured practice, while Prodigy and Sumdog add more of a game feel for students who get bored easily.
You could also mix these with quick printable activities so the practice doesn’t always feel like “work.” Sites like https://worksheetzone.org/ have short, skill-focused tasks that you can slot in between online practice to keep things varied and manageable.
Keeping sessions short and consistent (about 15 minutes a day) usually works better than long revision blocks over the summer.
