That is really good news.

StoatofDisarray · 07/07/2024 18:04

Genuinely surprised. Good!

Excellent news! Let's hope it has a positive impact.

pizzaHeart · 07/07/2024 18:06

Good news!

CreateUserNames · 07/07/2024 18:11

Maybe he should quit as he's not comprehensive enough 😂

Sleepygrumpyandnothappy · 07/07/2024 19:41

I feel much happier and more surprised than I expected to by seeing this. I’ve not seen the full tally of Oxbridge but that looks incredibly high too.

Pinkback · 07/07/2024 20:39

Time for the comprehensive lot to shut down those selective grammar and independent schools!

IsoldeWagner · 07/07/2024 20:41

Brilliant! A Cabinet of people who actually understand how ordinary people live. Such a refreshing change.
I bet none of their parents could afford Sky either, eh Rishi 😂

Do you mean you’d be pleased or unhappy with a high number of oxbridge students?

id have thought oxbridge out of state secondary would be something to celebrate. It means very bright brains at the top (not dismissing privately educated who get to oxbridge, but certainly 30 years ago when this lot were studying then the percentage from private was disproportionate)

Sleepygrumpyandnothappy · 09/07/2024 08:24

Pleased! Bright, often working class kids going to Oxbridge in the 90s and early 00s is something very much to be celebrated. I saw a stat that it was 40%.

Laserwho · 09/07/2024 09:06

About time. now hopefully state kids will get an equal playing field.
