Just go through a million past papers and the mark scheme

Ichangedmynameonce · 18/04/2024 16:07

Thanks, but I'm looking for online question generators

Corbett maths is good, though is not a question generator.

Leonab · 18/04/2024 16:15

@Ichangedmynameonce I might be able to put something together. What type of questions are you looking at?

3rdtimeinflorida · 18/04/2024 16:17

I agree with Corbett maths suggestion.

noblegiraffe · 18/04/2024 16:17

Mathsbot is a question generator, it does various formats of question. https://mathsbot.com/gcseMenu

It's not for teaching you the maths though.

Ichangedmynameonce · 18/04/2024 16:18

Thanks @Leonab to be honest, he needs to practice most areas 😞 - I've heard there are some that ask questions on everything and identify then generate more questions on your weak areas (this sounds like a unicorn/ mythical thing!)

Ones that identify your weak areas and focus on that are things that generally cost money because they need a login. Does the school have a subscription for the Pixl Maths app or Sparx Maths?

Leonab · 18/04/2024 16:25

@Ichangedmynameonce I create content for my lessons that I'm sharing online - you're welcome to use them. Although I'd need to know which topics and the current understanding to send the relevant links. Here's an example of an exercise I created for introducing ratio:

Look at Seneca learning. I'm not sure how good it is but it claims to be.

This is Sparx maths.

Think it's only available to schools

sparxmaths.com

Costs a hideous amount of money even for schools. My school couldn't afford it.

Octavia64 · 18/04/2024 16:33

Hannah Kettle does half past papers and then answers on tiktok.

Think you need to sub but it's not much

My daughters school use sparx maths which adapts questions for weaker areas. Does your child have access to it?

treenu · 18/04/2024 16:41

Onmaths is good if you want immediate feedback. You can complete papers and get solutions (if you pay) but I am not aware of many free websites that do similar. I don't know if it gives you more practice on the things you need help with?

What does the school recommend? We use method maths and sparx to support our students.

I might be able to provide an alternative with the content I create. Would you like to try?

Ichangedmynameonce · 18/04/2024 22:46

Thanks everyone. Maybe I am chasing a unicorn!

Thanks for the kind offer @Leonab I don't want to put you to trouble and tbh My DS is quite resistant anyway, I was just hoping for something already out there to drop into his lap! Thanks

DD really likes CGP’s MathsBuster. It’s a £12.99 subscription (for 3 years) which we discovered in Y10 and has been worth it many times over.

Ichangedmynameonce · 20/04/2024 12:03

Thank you @JessyCarr can you break it into practice topics and does it give you answers afterwards?

Thanks

JessyCarr · 20/04/2024 12:08

Yes @Ichangedmynameonce it’s all in topics with explanatory videos and solutions. If you have a look on the website I linked you can see a free demo video to get the sense of it.
