Accepting offers in different local authorities,

My daughter didn’t get her 1st choice school but was happy with the school offered and accepted. I have now had an email to say she can have a place at 1st choice school but she is now undecided?

These schools are in different local authorities, can I accept both to bind us more time to think, or will we automatically loose the first offer? she has SEND needs so not a straightforward decision.
TIA

Assuming secondary - no they are all linked. Accepting the new offer will automatically cancel the existing place in most cases.

No, you can’t accept both, you will have to make a decision. Also, please consider all the pupils on waiting lists and those appealing. Those families will be looking for certainty too.

If your home LA doesnt automatically withdraw the lower preferenc offer, you can only hold the two until the deadline given to make a decision on the other offer. Most areas give a few days to decide, but some assume that if you stayed on / joined a waiting list, you want the higher ranked school if it becomes available.

Your LA should detail how waiting list offers work on its website.

You might've already lost the lower preference offer! Check.
