Hi.. I'm looking for some support and advice

Me and ExH split and I have moved out of the home we own. It's up for sale.
My DD is currently staying with him while I get on my feet with a view to 50/50 split.
When the house sells him and DD will live with his parents.

The question is about secondary applications. His parents address where she will be spending most of her time for at least the next 6 months will be the best for the application due to catchment.

Even better would be our family home but that may sell before then.

I am in receipt of child benefit etc to save messing about when it returns to 50/50 because financially I will need that, in the meantime I'll be transferring it when I get it for her needs

How does my ex-h prove that he lives with parents for school applications if he doesn't have tenancy agreement, benefits or council tax?

.

If you’re transferring the CB to him, and your DD lives with him, you’re basically handing over any say in her secondary school application. That’s a big risk!

We are already in agreement over school and I'm not concerned about that.

I just need to know if he needs the CB in order to apply from his parents as that will be her main place of residence

Sorry, banking transfer not actually signing it over

The rules as to what address is acceptable depend on your LA. Without knowing which LA you live in, it is impossible to advise.

Yes, call your local education department and explain. Ask what evidence of residency they require.

Thanks both.
I will call them and ask the question directly
