CLSG vs Alleyns vs JAG

Hello,

my DD is fortunate enough to have offers from these schools. Travel time is the same, although JAGS and Alleyns would be on a school bus whereas CLSG would be northern line. My DD is not very sporty, very academic and a bit shy. We will go to offer holders events but would be great to get some insight from parents with kids in these schools.

thank you

re Alleyns - just beware that any indication they're not your first choice may count against you......

What makes you say that?

I imagine this is the case for most schools. Judging who to offer to is quite tricky, all schools will want to give offers to people who will accept them!

A: City Girls is located in the Barbican
B: Barbican is a ghetto
--> City Girls pupils study in the ghetto

EmpressoftheMundane · 01/08/2025 10:01

The a Barbican is certainly not a “ghetto” in any sense of the word.

bayesian · 01/08/2025 10:39

Ok, it is ugly and depressing

EmpressoftheMundane · 01/08/2025 12:08

That’s a matter of subjective opinion. It’s grade 1 listed.

bayesian · 01/08/2025 15:51

It is a grade-2 listed ghetto.

EmpressoftheMundane · 01/08/2025 16:45

Sounds like CLSG isn’t the school for you @bayesian

I think they will cope- there is a long waiting list!

I love the Barbican. Its a period piece, but isn’t it amazing that we allocated some of the most prime land in the heart of our financial district to the arts and nature.

bayesian · 01/08/2025 20:39

I walked across that ugly eyesore the other day...such a ghetto. Have you walked around that estate
