Recommendations of places to move north of Birmingham for excellent state secondary schools

Based on my previous post, can anyone recommend areas to move to that have a number of excellent state secondary schools?

We’re currently in the North West but would consider anywhere north of Birmingham (previously lived in the Cotswolds which I loved but I have to commute once a month so a bit far).

A lot of the places I’ve looked so far have one very good school which is over subscribed, surrounded by struggling schools.

Hey @Tsc2011 I'm still not sure why you want multiple great schools? You only need one, just move in next door!

From my knowledge I recommend Littleover CS in Derby, Ecclesbourne in Duffield, West Bridgford School in Notts, John Taylor in Barton, Staffordshire. Not sure if they are all Ofsted outstanding but I know teachers and parents who would recommend them all. Hth

What constitutes excellent too? So subjective.

I know plenty of people who moved, went to church, etc etc to get DC into schools perceived to be "better" and they have had issues with bullying, or a particular teacher, a subject they wanted to take at GCSE being pulled last minute, or a tricky friendship group etc. We sent ours to the local RI comp and it's been great!

There's so much you can't predict with schools. I wouldn't overthink it really.

Far better to look at areas that have good amenities that you as a family would enjoy. Leisure centres or outdoor spaces? Place of worship or niche hobby scene? Etc etc. school stuff can be sorted but living somewhere that works for you is an every day necessity.

Sutton coldfield. There are 2 grammar school, one for boys and one for girls. For comprehensive, The Arthur Terry School (Ofsted good, but GCSE not bad) , however, you have to live in very close to the school, let say less than 1 miles away from school
