Any parents here whose kids have finished interviews and waiting impatiently for the 9th of February (e.g., for Highgate/City/Girls Consortium/UCS)? What are your thoughts so far? Have you gotten the interview call backs you expected? Feeling optimistic?

Our surname starts with M… we have only had the WL offer from SHHS. We have all been up since 2.30am because we have flown to Lyon this morning… we are currently driving up a mountain. Its torture in the car. The younger DS is not helping! Waiting on QCL, Channing and FHS. Poor DD.

w8anxious · 09/02/2024 09:29

FHRP is out

maya1983 · 09/02/2024 09:30

Our surname is I... I have heard from a friend that she received a no from Channing. We are still waiting but trying not to read too much into that.

QuiteAJourney · 09/02/2024 09:42

Good luck to all waiting! You are almost there so stay strong and try not to read too much into patterns / timings. We got offers last years sometimes hours before other parents, sometimes before.

hiitsquare · 09/02/2024 09:55

CLS boy is out! It's a YES!!!

JoeDoe · 09/02/2024 10:52

@hiitsquare Congratulations! Offer for us too from CLS. Over the moon. Good luck to all those who still wait.

EmeraldSakara · 09/02/2024 11:19

Congrats @JoeDoe ! Still haven't heard from Highgate- anyone else?

laughinglemons · 09/02/2024 11:55

Ok so yes from FHS, Channing and QCL ! Well done DD. I know a parent waiting on highgate and UCS - anyone heard? For a DS.

Marylebonedad · 09/02/2024 12:04

Hi all - congrats to all the children who’ve worked so hard.

as we sift through the results, I realise how little we still know and would welcome some inputs / advice.

our daughter is in at NHEHS and FHRP and waitlist at CLSG (probably her top choice) and SHHS.

between NHEHS and FHRP, there’s not much in it from a commute standpoint (FHRP is close and we are directly on the NHEHS bus route) but wife and I are leaning NHEHS because of the academic results and the more suburban environment, but I’m not sure either are good reasons for that bias. FHRP has an offer holders morning, NHEHS doesn’t which is frustrating but would welcome any inputs either way.

on the waitlists, any experience with CLSG and SHHS? The mail from CLSG was awfully nice and very encouraging but I don’t want to get our daughters hopes up when it’s her first choice, especially when she as other great choices.

OhForUCSake · 09/02/2024 12:25

UCS out

EmeraldSakara · 09/02/2024 13:36

Still nothing from Highgate....

ChiaSea · 09/02/2024 13:36

We are on a waiting list for UCS, anyone know the likelihood of getting a place?

JoeDoe · 09/02/2024 14:26

@ChiaSea I think it is high likelihood, so keeping fingers crossed for you.

After half term, you can ask the admission officer of CLSG how many girls from WL eventually join the school in the past years, and what is your DDs position in the WL to gauge your chance.

Zelarocks · 10/02/2024 08:57

We passed Stahs and Habs girls exam We have an offer from Stahs unfortunately didn't get one from Habs girls wonder if they ever reconsider offers as its my first choice

RM1010 · 10/02/2024 11:25

Our DD is on wait list for NLCS and not email yet from HABS yet. Are the results out for HABS?

also does one know how likely NLCS offers someone who is on wait list?

EmeraldSakara · 10/02/2024 11:52

@RM1010 Habs offers came out yesterday, around 9.30am. Check your junk mail!
@Zelarocks if you've been declined by the school after interview then they won't offer you a place, no.

RM1010 · 10/02/2024 13:00

Do they still send an email that you are not accepted at HABS?

Yesha26 · 10/02/2024 13:31

Has anyone applied to SJSG? If so have you received the outcome as we haven’t as of yet.

EmeraldSakara · 10/02/2024 13:59

@RM1010 I'm sure they would send you a rejection email, yes.

CruCru · 10/02/2024 19:50

Hi all

Congratulations to all the children who have worked really hard.

I’m sure this has been said on here already but if you have multiple offers and are pretty definite on which is your favourite, please do release the places you are not going to take. They will be much appreciated by children on waiting lists.

Also, the state school places get announced on 1 March. If you have applied to those but are going to take the independent place, please release the state school place. I understand that every year a bunch of children don’t turn up to the state schools (because there is no financial penalty).

St James Senior actually put results in writing so just checked the post and it’s a yes, we’re on the waiting list for Channing. Congratulations to everyone with offers and fingers crossed for everyone on waiting lists.
