BHASVIC vs private sixth form

Really struggling to decide between state sixth form (BHASVIC) or staying in current private school. My DD is very happy so would be lovely to keep her in her current school but cost wise it has huge implications obviously and although her current school gets good results so does BHASVIC. Does anyone have any experience of BHASVIC? I am mostly concerned that she will drift and struggle with lack of routine and opportunity to take part in sport and end up with lots of time at home on her own outside of lessons and struggle to make new friends as it's such a large sixth form

My dc goes to bhasvic. They made friends pretty easily despite not knowing anyone, but it depends on how outgoing your dd is. There's no time to come home between lessons as we're not local but they have a great library to do hw in. Its a good idea to plan what she will do during her free periods. Theres lots of clubs etc to get involved with too.

The main thing is that my dc wanted to go there so went with a positive attitude

Thank you, sounds reassuring then :). It's not just about the grades but main thing is that we want her to be happy. What does a typical timetable look like there e.g. is it common to have a lesson in the morning and then nothing until the afternoon?

My dc has 1 day where they have a lesson 1st thing and then nothing until the afternoon. They go to the library/hang out with class mates/go into Brighton. The rest of the week is mixed - 10am start/3pm finish or midday start/5pm finish. So its a mixed bag really. My dc is very outgoing, but a friend's dc not so much and found it better to structure their days so they always had something to do in their free periods.

My son is at BHASVIC and is doing well. His timetable is pretty full, some early starts (train journey to Brighton) and not many free periods for him
He has a group of friends there from his state secondary, but is in different tutor and classes from them so has made new friends too.
Overall, I'd recommend...

I can’t speak for this particular college but I don’t know why sixth form colleges aren’t more popular. I think they provide a really useful transition to university, taught by teachers who are hyper focused on a level, and generally get really good results considering they have more inclusive entry requirements than many school sixth forms.
