Independent school in or close to SW London for gorl not meeting expectations in Maths and Writing

We are looking for an independent secondary school for our daughter currently in year 5. She has always met expectations but her recent report show she is not meeting expectations in writing and maths. She had an ed psych report revealing that she is dyslexic.
We are in SW London but could possible relocate if the right school came up (would need to commute back into SW London for work)

Loads of options, aim for an all through school or otherwise you spend all the time prepping for entrance exams. Options include Fulham School, St James's at Hammersmith and further out Ewell Castle, Radnor House and Hampton Court House. Notre Dame in Cobham. If you go out also Royal Russell and Sutton High.

Is her dyslexia severe enough to consider a dyslexia specialist schools?

Not sure, but will look into this school as its not one I have heard of. Will discuss with her current SENCO.

St James in Olympia has something like a third SN and gets quite good results. Nice ethos - quiet time and meditation etc. I think it’s vegetarian

Emanuel in Clapham (co-Ed)

St Augustine in Ealing (co-Ed) - great grounds

If you can come further in then More House in Knightsbridge (nice small classes)

Possibly Queens Gate in Kensingston (similarly nice small classes and museums on the doorstep) but harder to get into these days -

There are co-Ed day schools in Kew and Isleworth (one might be called Kew green?) you could also take a look at.

Further out - some people really like Woldingham in Surrey - buses out from Clapham - they also do flexi boarding

St. James is small Year group and only girls.
Emanuel is larger Year group and nowadays harder to get into 1000+ applications for 96 places in 11+.
Queen Gate have junior school so not sure how many places for senior.
Fulham Senior is new and in SW area.
Thomas have a senior school to GCSEs, 16 years old, in Putney Vale going to move to larger space in Richmond.
Ibstock and Harrodian.
Knightsbridge school now goes to GCSEs too.

I would look at More House. It's a mainstream school but with a large number of girls with dyslexia and good support, as well as great pastoral care and small classes. A lot of the girls come from SW London and depending on where you are, it's accessible by tube, train or bus.

Emanuel, Harrodian and Ibstock are all selective - you may want to try but worth managing expectations (I know quite a few kids comfortably meeting expectations that did not get into them), especially Emanuel and Harrodian, which are rather competitive.
Still selective, but less competitive, Woldingham, Streatham and Clapham High and Sutton High.
Worth looking at The Hall school in Wimbledon (co-ed) or you may want to also consider Thames Christian in Clapham.
If your daughter is at a prep, worth speaking with the HM / tutors for their advice. If not at prep, you may want to engage an education consultant for advice.
My advice would be also to visit / engage with potential secondary schools early one and be open about your DDs reports to get a better idea to how they would address her needs.

I have done extensive studies on the benefits of single sex schooling and I strongly recommend you send her to an all girls school.

Some independents if your in the junior / prep side of the school then you get an automatic place in the senior school. Avoid 11 plus and all the stress.

Maybe consider moving your child earlier to avoid the competition and stress (obviously it would have to be the right school)

Writing - well that's what laptops are for 👍 I'd push for that.

I'd try and gauge if it's a daily struggle needs an EHCP or whether she is ok just needs extra help.

Good luck
