Governors warning

Hi
My child is in secondary school and on the verge of permanent exclusion , he is undergoing assessment for ADHD. Does anyone know if he was to recieve a final warning from the governors, would the letter be written and signed by the board of governors or written and signed by the head. Thank you to anyone who can offer advice on this

Governors will only be involved if you appeal

Governance is a strategic function, not operational

The HT is the only one who can make the decision to exclude.

It's absolutely the last resort.

The appeal panel will ensure everything was done in line with school/academy policy.

Thank you, I had a meeting yesterday with HT DHT and a governor, the headteacher gave a letter that was a final warning apparently from the governors but was written and signed by him so was abit confused

If it’s a state school (maintained or academy) there is no such thing as a final written warning from governors or a headteacher. You might have had an at risk of permanent exclusion meeting which would usually include the local authority, but they can only permanently exclude if a one off serious incident or persistent disruptive behaviour, and that decision can only be made by the headteacher

run all the schools actions past the LA, schools are known to attempt to offroll pupils to get rid of the but the LA has strict guidance around these things
