11 plus help!

So my wonderful boy has failed bexley by 5 marks.

He was expected to pass and pass well.

He had nausea on the day of the test but still felt he did ok test wise so I didn't visit a doctor or anything.

He is currently under some care due to health concerns that could have impacted his test performance but I did not link this to any 11 plus performance and we are waiting for a hospital referral and with pressure on NHS I did not think to push for it as was waiting for 11 plus to be over to keep chasing my GP as they are hard to get appointments with .

He typically gets really good school reports all well above average. I think the only at expected was for science and maybe music?

His 11 plus tutor is very shocked and said he always performed very highly in mocks and in the tutor group.

Shall I speak to his head teacher about a Bexley appeal or review?

There is still Kent tomorrow to hope for.

His school reports are excellent.

He has not been in school so much in year 6. I don't have much by way of doctors forms until after the 11 plus. His primary school are very disorganised and not many children sit for 11 plus and as we are out of the area but within the distance for Bexley grammars I may need to see if the Head will support a review. Is there anything I should get together for the school such as past copies of school reports?
Or is 5/6 marks too far away?

Can I ask Bexley to check his answer sheet at all?

@KBatchelor there's a dedicated section for research/survey requests. Also you would need to give some indication as to who you are and what the research is for before anyone could consider filling in information about their child's mental health.

Don't waste your time. I went through this last year with some who was under consultant care and about to start treatment for severe, undiagnosable stomach pains. Missed by 0.425 of a mark so rounded down. Had letters of support from several consultants, therapists, sports coaches for 3 sports at district levels and school. As he didn't get the score would not admit him. End of. His symptoms definitely stopped him from performing well. They said we should have postponed test. I said it was getting worse and had medical evidence to back this up. Not interested. There are that many kids who passed and missed out on a place due to distance that said wouldn't be fair to give our son a spot over them. Took 9 months of stress, anxiety, headaches, literally damaged my health due to the stress of it as son had not been given any school on list in March either. Appeals are there to make out that they are listening to parents but they really aren't bothered. Learned from process that your child is a number and they don't have a vested interest in where your child attends school so 🤷 My son wasn't tutored and was expected to pass. Passed Kent test on a day when was symptom free 🤷So, as devastating as it is (and I know exactly how you are feeling right now) I would accept the outcome, save yourself a lot of stress and time and concentrate on getting him into another school. Persuing an appeal means several of your school choices get taken up by selective schools which limits places for other schools on your list. Places are v limited in all schools as it is, without limiting your options. We learned the hard way after being poorly advised and believing that with medical backing we had a good case. Nothing works once you are deemed non selective.

Was this for Bexley test?
