Exam revision - how to help?

So my DC is sitting their GCSE next year and although they are bright their grades are just slipping.
They are the youngest and out of all the children probably the brightest but where as the others worked hard my DC is super lazy and was originally predicted high grades and now is limping in with 3-4-5s.
How can I support them with their GCSE. I have purchased the CGP books and they are supposed to be doing the online lessons but I think unlesss I sit with them they are only half half heartedly doing it.
Has anyone got a revision ideas?
Did you sit with your child every evening and over see. If so how long for and what did you do?
it’s been so long since my GCSEs and I didn’t do brilliantly at school so I am worried how much I can help.

My ds is the same and I 'manage' him rather than sit with him.
I get him to sit at the kitchen table, ask him what he's going to do the check on him.
I get him to use bbcbitesize and YouTube when he's really stuck.

I recommend cognito learning, an interactive online platform. You can easily see progress and what's been completed. CGP books are fairly good, they also do flashcards, but cognito constantly tests and corrects their knowledge.

Set a minimum, such as 'do 2 tasks tonight' and get them to show you when their done, but with a small reward if they complete 3 tasks (bonus pocket money, or thry get to choose a takeaway if they earn a set number of rewards, or whatever might motivate them.)

I am 'baby-sitting' DD in quite a big way. She's clever but SEN (severe dyslexia and ADHD) so we're already going to be losing all the SPAG marks which means she'll need to be solid on the rest.

What I've done is to get her to give me the topics she covers each week and using a combination of the revision books and what's out there on google I'm making her bite-size revision sheets.

She tends to look at the weight and thickness of the revision books and panic, so separate sheets that she can then use to make her own revision cards will be less terrifying.

A lot of schools have published revision sheets on specific topics on their websites, so easy to adapt and add to.

It's a lot of extra work for me, but given the choice between a couple of quiet hours on google and a couple of hours dealing with the 'I can't do this' meltdown it was rather an easy choice! Some of it is also quite interesting. I don't do maths or English Language and I don't do anything for the BTEC. It's mainly sciences and geography.

If it's more a case of them just being lazy, then I would probably just bribe!

This sounds really good - does it cover all exam boards? Off to take a look!

We used Corbett maths flash cards and FlipsCoCards.com for English lit. Both very affordable.
