Concrete schools - anyone else got a child stuck at home?

Is anyone else's child not going back to school because it's shut because of concrete or asbestos or some other building thing? I am feeling really upset and anxious about it; they were about to start year 10 and were uncharacteristically enthusiastic (tidied bedroom and painted their pen pot 😆).
School doesn't really have an online teaching plan (they set small daily BBC bitesize tasks in covid and they haven't moved on since then). So I'm so scared it's going to be back to teen lying on the floor of their bedroom not moving all day and snapping miserably at me just like covid. Not really got a friend circle they could go out with either, and me and H working full time.
Scared this will last for weeks and weeks and fuck up both their GCSEs and their mental health.

Yes here too, so stressful and upsetting. Half of the school needs to be knocked down so will take years. Both of mine were off this week, DS in year 11 so thankfully he went back Friday. School has put on home learning onto app this week (quite a lot!) and they are moving to teams on Monday. DD is quite organised and has been doing her work, inviting friends around so they can work together and has been to swimming pool every other day to get out the house. But I hate it, I hate them looking dead eyed and fed up, they both need to be in school, I hate how it reminds me of the miserable Covid years and they’ve missed so much school as it is, along with strikes, and other issues.

Thankfully no .. yes we learned in Covid how counter productive online learning is .

I feel for you all in this situation

Yes, my DS is going into yr10. He has online lessons and one in person day next week.

He said yr9 has been his only uninterrupted 'normal' year in secondary school. He's had lockdown and 'bubbles' (sitting in one seat in one room all day) and now this.

I'm so, so angry! He needs PE and science experiments and music lessons and most of all, to mix with his friends. He's been completely shafted by the current government through criminal levels of underfunding in schools.

My children’s school has just announced they have found RAAC, after advising us this week that there wasn’t any….. They have said they will close on Monday initially and are awaiting guidance from DfE. I have one going into year 11 and one into year 13.

We have no idea as to the severity yet but I assume they will at least do all they can to keep those years in f2f learning?

Yes both dd year 13 and DS year 10 both on line working for the foreseeable

I'm very concerned about DS - on line work for gcses is not great

Dd is very sensible and diligent so less concerned about her

Yes, I didn’t time that very well did I?

I know I’m getting ahead myself but I’m dreading a return to teacher assessed grades. One of mine would be fine with that or an exam I think, but the other doesn’t really do as well in class but often pulls it out the bag in tests…….
