Year 10/11 bedtime

Just wondering what time your Year 10/11 goes to bed during the school week usually ?

My son goes by 10:15/10:30 (leaves home around 07:30 in morning)

He does sport /club after school during school term tines and for school/local club.

To be honest I am happy for him to do the sport as I think it gives him a good let out from schoolwork which he hates doing - so as to not drip feed he has ADHD and he would rather be outside running around with his mates than being in the classroom . He does game/chat with mates around homework

His diet is mostly good , however he is very tired this year and has fallen asleep at school - he has really suffered with Hayfever this year too ,

Just trying to get him on a better track ready for year 11

My oldest is only finishing Y9, so younger than you've asked for, but if he was very tired, to the point of falling asleep at school, bedtime would have to be earlier.
As it is, mine have a screen curfew, but lights out is up to them. If the lights are still on when I go to bed, I pop in, point out im off to bed, and say good night (again).
I also don't, yet, have one of these mythical teens who like to sleep til lunchtime, which probably helps.

In Y11 DD went to bed at 11pm and was up around 6:30am. She wasn’t tired on this routine.

Now in Y12 she keeps the same routine but was suffering from exhaustion. Blood tests showed low vit D so now she takes a vit D supplement and a Magnesium supplement at bedtime and it seems to have helped.

DD also gets hay fever so I make sure she’s only taking non drowsy antihistamines as other ones knock her out.

I think it really depends on the individual child. My dd year 9 goes to bed at 9.30 and any later than that and I definitely notice a difference in her. But she is an early riser. So whatever suits your child - but any less than 8 hours personally I don't think that's enough. I read somewhere that the recommend sleep for a teenager was 8-10 hours.

DD is 16 and she was in bed by 9pm in year 10 (barring one night a week when she had extracurricular one night a week and the odd occasion when we'd started watching a film) Even on weekends she had only a 9pm bedtime on the whole.

In year 11 we relaxed it a bit, so 9.30pm was more standard.

She's never been allowed a phone in her room overnight and we have a no electronics in bedrooms at night rule too.

If you allow him to have devices in his room then I'd refuse to let him from here on in.

Thank you for all the replies
I may have been a bit unclear - so bed by 22:15 & usually asleep quickly - gets up at 7am or just before

No gaming after 09:15 as parental controls come on - phone handed in at 22:00 or earlier - no electronics in room as pc is downstairs and phone not allowed in room at night - we had this rule for when he first had phone and it gets charged overnight in study .

Will think about supplements
