Not sure if DS will go to University after A levels. Just wondered what your DC might be doing if not following on to University?

DS is doing an apprenticeship.

Dd isn’t going this year because she doesn’t know what she wants to do and thinks there’s no point in spending all that money on a course she later regrets. We agree.
She doesn’t have any big gap year plans but she does have a waitressing job so I am expecting her to work a lot of hours at that and do some travelling but I am also hoping she will get sufficiently bored to start looking around for something more interesting. We’ll see.

Students I work with who don’t opt for uni go into work, school leaver schemes, forces, apprenticeships, other Higher Ed quals, travelling.

Ds1 decided against it and is working full time in the leisure sector. Rolling with it for now, not sure how he’ll ever afford to move out though.

Dc1.got a job in the area that appealed. Was then offered a training programme after a year so is now doing 4 days work, 1 day uni all paid for for two years. If passes has to work for the company for a year then they will pay for the full degree. So even though dc didn't want to go to uni has ended up there and will hopefully end up with a degree aged about 24, no debt and had a full time wage payed.
University isn't for everyone, I have two other dc o es talking about going to uni the other is wanting to do a degree apprenticeship. I'm very happy my dc are looking at lots of different options.
