Hi can I start am looking for advice on easy iron shirts for secondary? Are they actually a thing and which supermarket/ M and S? Feel it would be worth it to pay a little more I haven't really had the iron out since DS was born.
If anyone is after chunky build trousers I would recommend Asda/ George, a lot more generous IME :-)

I use M&S no iron and don't iron anything ever

I find Next trousers are great for a variety of builds- have one dc in the skinny fit and one who is in the curvy fit. Look good and wash really well. Definitely don’t need ironing.

Anyone seen cotton revere neckline blouses? All seem to be 65% polyester which is awful for sweaty sporty teens.

thanks tadpolecity I will buy the M and S ones- we also have a lot of tadpoles here coincidentally :-)

I got extra long trousers from Sainsbury's for my slim boy but got them in a smaller age size so they fit in the waist. They also have the elastic button adjustor thing so you can take the waist in more. They have reinforced knees. I never iron them and they still have the original crease down the front from when they were new in September.

I think they are only available online, never seen them in store.

I have beanpole skinny DSes and found that Asda trousers fitted well (the regular fit have notched elastic right up to age 16, so you can hoick them in)

Their shirts (and polo shirts for primary) are as good as anywhere else, and cheaper than the likes of M&S

I haven't however looked at ethical/environmental footprint of Asda compared to its competitors

SwanUppmanship · 01/05/2023 20:19

Any recommendations for school shirts (not polos)?

Also, I got a great coat for my DS from asda. It's nearing the end of it's second winter and is still in good condition. It was only about £30.

I get my shirts from either Sainsbury's or Tesco.

Trutex trousers are fairly good if you have tall and slim girls.

My DC had M&S non-iron shirts for years. Changed to Asda non-iron for DS this year and they are just as good and loads cheaper. No good for revere collars for older DD though.

My son is stocky and we have found M&S Plus Fit to be by far the best. I'd definitely recommend going for the plus fit rather than sizing up for a bigger waist. We get the plus fit shirts from Asda. Non-iron and they wash really well. Cheap enough so we buy four and he can have a clean shirt every day. The branded uniform seems to be the poorest quality.

Thanks Bowlowner thats handy.
