If your child is going into year 7 in September have you heard from their school yet?

Beyond the offer from the council we've not heard a single thing. I had assumed we might have had something from the school by now at least telling us if they will have an induction day and if so when.

Perhaps I'm just in too much of a rush but it would be good to hear from them in one way or another.

No.

With DS we didn't hear anything until June, I assumed the lateness was covid related because it was 2020 but I have friends with children in year 7 and 8 said they experienced the same.

Our school sends out a short letter which includes links to various information on the website and information about uniform and equipment they will need.

Induction day is always the first week in July and there is normally a welcome evening incl. child the week before where they meet the form teacher and classmates.

Schools are full in A-Level and GCSE exam preparations which last until end of June hence no physical meetings beforehand.

The local schools (including the one DD is going to) issue a list of transition day dates to the primary schools so DD's teacher was able to confirm them.

We have an email to say they are looking forward to meeting DD etc and more information will come in May.
