Hi
Just wondering how much time your year 12 is spending/spent on revision for their A level mocks?

Getting a bit worried for DS as these results will determine his uni applications

Thanks in advance

Specifically for exams (which are surely not mocks - aren't those the ones in Year 13)?
Precisely none so far.

They have been writing notes and revising bits as they go along.

DD has just started revising seriously in the second week of the holidays but she has AS exams in 4 weeks. She hardly revised for mocks, I think she started about a week before but then was ill for a few days.

Nothing but she has written most of her EPQ and done her holiday work.

My son’s school were pushing for them to start before the Easter holidays, but he hasn’t yet - mainly because he had other things to do including writing the first draft of his EPQ.

I think Y12 exams are more important than his mocks in many ways as they are the main source of predicted grades. He did very well in his end of term assessments so we are not concerned but he will start doing a minimum of an hour of revision (including revision set as homework) after school which will probably get ramped up as they get closer. During the week he has 6 hours of supervised study time timetabled so will encourage him to use that wisely as well.

Ah yes, I forgot to say that DD has also submitted her EPQ (before Easter) and is on second draft of her first NEA. So her time has been pretty full.

DC's school mainly uses mocks in November to advise university predictions. Other than for those (very few as I'm sure must be the case for most not highly selective sixth forms) submitting UCAS earlier.
