I have searched everywhere for them. I contacted my old school, I took them in 1986 !! The exam boards have changed since then. She has given me the new exam board contact details

Has anyone ever managed to get copies of certificates, and if so, how?

you get them from the examing board, ring the board and speak to them. Costs lots I think

Will they have records back to the dark ages?

Just say you can't get them and make up a whole host of interesting O'levels!! I'm assuming it's for a job.

Maidamess · 06/02/2008 17:54

Nah, its for a Higher Level teaching assistant course.

The fact I've got a degree and 2 A levels is neither here nor there, apparently

I HAVE to prove I've got O level Maths and English...or I face retaking them..

The Humiliation!!

Has your school got any documents from then ie newsletters? Did your Mum and dad keep local paper cuttings eg all my year group (also 86 were in the paper and Mum has a copy). Does your Maths or English teacher still work at the school?

If all else fails and you have to retake it is lots easier than O Level.

What about U.C.C.A. When you went through them to Uni they were notified of all your qualifications. I bet they keep records.

I will have a look for the website that deals with most replacment certificates for education - not cheap though I will warn you

back later

Each examination board keeps its own records, so you need to know which exam board awarded your qualifications. The school or college where you took the exams may be able to advise you on the exam boards responsible for awarding your qualifications if you don't know. Once you have the details of the relevant exam boards, you need to contact each board separately about obtaining replacement certificates. The contact details for exam boards (with details of their successors, if appropriate) can be found on the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority website.

hope this helps

I had to get copies of mine, and my mother threw them out. I contacted the exam board and it was not difficult at all. you will have to pay for them

I went to Ensham secondary school 1981-1986 and have no record of what exams I took, exam boards or grades. School has now gone. Where can I find out what I took and grades
