D’overbroecks 7-11 oxford

We are weighing up options for ds for year 9 - we have places at several schools inc D’overbroecks as couldn’t make a decision on the best choice, if there is one. Still very indecisive …we have a sensitive high functioning autistic ds who is performing slightly above average except maths which is average and would not suit a pressurised highly selective school. socially is not too bad currently (year 7), in a selective prep school, doesn’t have additional support, not very good at sport but tolerates it.

Does anyone have experience or current knowledge of the 7-11 part of D’overbroecks?

It seems like a lovely tiny pastorally strong school BUT
We don’t know anyone there and whilst people speak very positively locally of the sixth form, it is really a totally different ball game and we don’t quite know what to make of the lower part of the school.
I.e. fairly large boarding 6th form with excellent results, new shiny campus and lots of international students vs. Tiny day school with very good results but rather mediocre premises, ?lots of kids who haven’t fitted elsewhere and charging same fees as larger independents with much more choice of activities/subjects/experiences and greater facilities.

Any thoughts positive or negative welcome.

we also have places at bloxham, st edwards (day), pangbourne college , turned down cokethorpe as ds inexplicably didn’t like it, we didn’t like kingham hill as too religious

I know we probably shouldn’t have accepted loads of places but ds has been maturing and changing a lot over the 2 years of this process as all the schools do things at different times so we were trying to keep options open
Thanks

They’ve got an Open Eve coming up. It’s a brilliant school & sounds like your child would be a good fit. They take them off site for Sport etc & the smaller campus gives it supportive family atmosphere. The actual classrooms are a good size. Teddies is great but attracts a confident type of child, self starters, entrepreneurial spirit & the pace of life there might not suit the day pupils are there till 9pm. Your DS must be bright to have secured places at all of them.

Certainly nothing "wrong", just not as results-focused academically as many other schools (which is what many parents seek).
However, it has stunning grounds, good sports, and an excellent library-theatre-film centre.

I dont know if you are based in Oxford but in your opinion what is the best private school co ed/girls only preferably from this list (rye st antony, wychwood, doverbroecks, st edwards, cokethorpe, OLA ) and it would be great if you can rank them
