Help, late in the year and DC wants to change an A-level subject

In a sticky situation as DC wants to swap a subject and I know it’s late in the year.

His head of year said it is late and there is too much to catchup on.
I wondered if anyone has been in the same situation, did you or someone you know manage to change late and be successful?

so stressed!!

Economics and DC achieve 8 in business so there is a bit of cross over there which could have been considered.

Anyway, I get it’s too late. Just annoying how it turned out but usually these things happen for a reason and work out for the better!

Getting a 6 in maths after retaking will probably mean they struggle with the maths elements never mind also having to catch up!

Has DS got an alternative plan for after college it was he counting on swapping subjects?

Economics is a brand new subject, so it's very late to switch. If he was told he could start the course if he retook maths, then I do think the school could honour this.

Economics is not an A-level offered everywhere, so it won't be essential for his next step.

If he wants to do Economics as a degree, lack of A-level Maths will be more of a problem.

If you had a maths tutor, maybe the school would be willing to let him try?
