Is Queen Annes Caversham really selective? And how selective?

Looking at Queen Anne's in Caversham. Does anyone have ideas on if they are really selective? And how competitive is it to get in? The number of applications vs children who get offers.
Seems like a good school. Although the most expensive one in the area.

No. Really not very selective. I’ve never known anyone who didn’t get in who wanted to go there.

They make out they are more selective than they are and rely heavily on Chinese students to get the high grades at GCSE and A level. That’s not to say that local girls aren’t stretched and perform extremely well, but the top sets are dominated by international boarders.

That said, they are a fantastic school for getting the best out of your daughter. It offers a balanced education and I truly believe that any girl would reach their potential there, but please don’t think it’s some academic exam factory. They do choose the very brightest international girls to booster results . Local girls really don’t have to be as bright.

Not selective in any way, other than by bank balance. I’ve known lots of children sit the exam and not one has failed to be offered a place. At least half of the ones I know have been offered a scholarship of some sort!

Thanks everyone. That's what it felt like. They did make a big show about them getting the brightest and being very selective. But even in their open house, there weren't that many parents.
