Staff Room!!!

ScienceTeacher · 27/01/2008 14:42

It was suggested on another thread that we should have a staff room, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and start one.

Shall we introduce ourselves?

I teach Science (Physics A-level and GCSE Chemistry plus the usual general science in KS3, and also KS3 Geography). I work in a small girls' independent school. I started this job in September having spent two years in contract and supply. This was a getting back to teaching after an 8-year maternity leave.

I am a mum to five children from 16 (gcse!) TO 5.

My classes will do anything for a scratch and sniff sticker.

I also love teaching PSHE.

My kids also love praisepadz much cheaper than certificates which I save for more special occasions.

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:34

I buy my boys from here

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:35

Oh God what a Freudian slip that will teach me to post on a thread about sex clubs and the staffroom at the same time. I do of course mean I buy my bits from here.

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:36

I have one of those three part stampers, one part says self assessed, one part say target met = 1 merit and the other says excellent homework.

billybass · 05/05/2008 17:36

Hi MB are you offering to make the coffee?

Where do people get these stampers from?

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:38

I am secondary, and bloody hard nut secondary at that but they still love a sticker or stamp. My year 7s are working like trojans at the moment so I order them some Noddy stickers.

billybass · 05/05/2008 17:39

ooh I love geography, can I have one icod?

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:43

Blandmum · 05/05/2008 17:44

hercules1 · 05/05/2008 17:44

I need to go and do my planning for tomorrow at least. Just can't raise the energy.

janeite · 05/05/2008 17:45

My Yr 11s worked hard last week (for once!) and their reward was to listen to The Verve for 10 minutes. I suspect they would have liked stickers better though! I am also "hard nut secondary" - and your Freudian slip made me howl with laughter Twinset, sorry!

Blandmum · 05/05/2008 17:46

I'm planned for the week, tidied the house today, took the kids for a swim, mowed the lawn and we have home made shepherds pie in the oven for tea.

I need a sticker that says' you shat miracles today!'

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:47

I once had some wristbands and doorhangers that we bought with the remnants of department budget and they went down really well.

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 17:48

my classes would love these
