Is there likely to be much movement between provisional and confirmed GCSE dates?

The provisional GCSE dates seem to be out today (at least for the exam boards my daughter's school uses) - does anyone know if there is likely to be much movement between the provisional dates and the final confirmed ones? Thanks

In general, no. Most exam boards will also release a contingency date, and won't move exams, if they move at all, after this date. If you're looking to book a holiday or similar, anything after the contingency date should be safe.

I wonder if the exam board are expecting the Coronation to take place during half term, an extra bank holiday next summer is the only possible change but within the civil service they should have an idea of when it will take place.

Generally no.

Do remember to note the Contingency Day

With the possibility of an additional Bank Hol if there is a summer coronation outside half-term, then it's a year when contingency day might well get used.

Thanks for the heads up dates have been released.
I need to contact DD's college exams officer today and this is more ammunition for my argument she should sit Eng this November.

If you are planning to book a holiday check when any leaving things happen as well. My DC's leavers assembly was about a week after the last exam.
