Does anyone have any experience of their children attending this school or know anyone that has?

Im thinking of moving my daughter to Surbiton High School in Year 8. Any advice on this would be helpful. Thank you

What are you not happy with?

is Cranbury a small school for children with Aspergers or high functioning ASD?

Or have I got that wrong?

What year has your daughter gone into this September, and where is she now? Have you spoken with Surbiton about potential Y8 vacancies??

I’m considering sending my DS there in secondary if we move locally and if I can afford it.
I’ve only heard a few things about it but all glowingly positive. They offer one to one learning if required which not all schools for children with special needs do. Although my DS doesn’t require one to one, my friend’s DC does. This really made the school their best choice. Plus it seems like a really positive, encouraging environment.

Hi, regarding Cranbury I was enquiring for a friend overseas who was moving to London and was debating between sending their child to a mainstream school with great SEN department or somewhere more specialised like Cranbury. I dont know anything about them at all so was just curious for her.

Daughter is in a school outside London and is currently in year 7 but we are moving to Kingston upon thames very soon and have heard that Surbiton is a good school. We are looking for something that is a good balance between academics and developing the child as a whole with also - focusing on extra curricular activities and good pastoral care.

Do you mean Canbury?

I taught there until recently.

It is a fantastic little school where children are allowed to be unique individuals.

About 70% of the students have EHCPs which is why the school is able to thrive financially.

Any offer will include all the therapies your child will need to help them reach their potential.

A small independent school such as Canbury is very nimble at responding to your child's individual needs, rather than some secondary schools that have 'one child' policies.

Their open day is usually very early in the term, so do go and have a look.

It might be easier to have two separate threads, one for Surbiton (and there’s been loads of chat about SHS on here recently, esp with the suddenly increased cohort size) one for Canbury?

SUSANA4100 · 08/09/2022 23:07

Thats great, thank you for the replies. And yes I do think separate threads would be better!
