Any reviews for Marymount International School?

Hello, does anyone have any reviews to share about Marymount school? It seems impressive with small class sizes & good facilities. It’s obviously a great choice for families trying to move in or out of the UK, but is it a good choice for families who don’t have any intentions of relocation ? My child is a little shy but very hard working and I don’t mind putting her in an IB curriculum. Thanks.

It's the fees structure that puts off local parents, I can't see the fees on the website but they are higher than the local girls private schools.

I just looked them up - £9k per term for day students. That is a lot, even for London.

I only know a girl whose family sent her and her sister there when they moved to London. They did brilliantly there and made great friends both British and international expat. The IB got both girls into leading US universities.

Just a little about the background of the girls - both came from a small RC school context. The older one was half way through her first year of high school when they moved and the younger one was in 8th grade, so they were 13 and 14. They were the opposite of 'life of the party' types. The parents were keen on the small class sizes and the school had clearly developed great strategies to help students settle in quickly and feel at home.

Yes, the fees is extremely high. Does the small class size and individual attention justify the high fees? Maybe not and maybe that is why the school isn’t popular despite having decent exit results. Having said that, many private schools in the area don’t have exciting campuses and have large class sizes and still charge 20-25k per year. Is that justifiable?

It's justifiable but realistically it's outside the budget of many parents in the area.

It’s got a great reputation in my neck of the woods but admittedly it’s pricier than other independents. Very international vibe as you’d expect but lovely Catholic ethos and beautiful grounds.

I believe it has a rather transient school population. Lots of pupils come and go every year which can be unsettling for ones who are there more permanently.

Thanks a lot
