Year 10 DDs important exams after Easter…

DD has exams in all subjects after the Easter holidays (start in 3 weeks). They are going to be done in the style of GCSES in the hall and cover everything she’s done in year 10 plus key concepts from year 9. They’re important because her grades will determine what set she is in in year 11. She’s keen to do well and revise but obviously there’s loads of content per subject. What do you think is the best way for her to plan her to revise without it completely taking over her holiday?

Go through the syllabus for each, and for what she’s covered highlight in green things she’s confident with, yellow things she’s unsure of and red things she’s very unsure of.
Take all the red ones and draw up a revision table for Easter hols. No more then 3 hours a day, 40 minute blocks for each subject. If there are any subjects she struggles with, give them more blocks. Subjects she’s very strong in she might want to revise before the Easter break and give the two weeks over to weaker areas.

In 3 weeks, she's going to struggle to revise everything unless she has been revising as she goes along e.g. for end of unit tests. (and if she hasn't, I'd really suggest encouraging her to adopt this habit in the rest of Year 10 and Year 11).

I agree with PP she should write down a list of all topics covered and identify the ones that need most work. If she's reasonably confident with the material already, doing some practice questions will be useful (loads available online). Revision guides (my DC like CGP) are also useful for providing quick summaries - although you do need to know the material reasonably well already.

Thanks for the replies. She has revised for end of unit tests so really hoping she remembers it quite well. I will get her to identify topics she finds hardest. I’m pretty sure we have some CGP books so will dig them out too.

Has she made any revision cards / mind maps as she has gone along for the end of unit tests?
If not I suggest she considers doing so now for these tests. For the actual GCSEs she can't rely on whole CGP books for final revision.
By the start of y11 she should have some form of revision notes for everything studied so far.
