Moving to Marlow

Hi all - new to mumsnet so hopefully I’m doing it right. Looking to move from West Hampstead to marlow (currently on Mat leave with my little one - now 10weeks). My DH will need to commute to bond st 2/3 times a week and my job is based in Marylebone however thinking I could try work locally (I work in a cosmetic skin clinic so thinking there could be a few around the area ha) We are just wondering what the commute is really like? We absolutely love Marlow but worried the commute isn’t do-able. Be thankful of any guidance! All the best x

The person I know who lives in Marlow and commutes drives to Maidenhead and then gets the 08.02 fast train to Paddington (20 mins), then takes an e-bike or the tube. I think early in the morning if you take the train from Marlow itself you have to change at Bourne End but not 100% sure! It will get much much easier when crossrail finally opens and you can go all the way through to Bond St.

I would definitely look at cosmetic skin clinics locally, there are loads...I can think of a few in Ascot, Eton high street has 3, Taplow, I'm sure Marlow has a couple! It will make life easier if you aren't both commuting when your baby is older for sure.

You don't say if you drive/have a car but that will also make life a lot easier. I used to live in West Hampstead, we never needed a car but once we moved out to Berkshire it became an absolute necessity.

You can drive to Beaconsfield and get the train from there to Marylebone.
To bond Street, it's about 30-45inute drive to west/South Ruislip (slightly less for Hillingdon) and you can park for the central/picadilly/metro lines.
Marlow is lovely and there's a few clinics about. I see services advertised on local pages so you could always set up solo?
Marlow, flackwell, Bourne end, Beaconsfield all have those type of clinics I think. (I don't use them (yet?!) so they're not something I notice).

PS you're posting in the secondary education section which probably isn't the best place for your question Smile Check out on the top right the different topic boards - I'd post in Chat or Local to get more responses!
