No football team for Year 9

What would you think if a large secondary school couldn’t offer a football team for year 9 but can for other year groups. Apparently not enough teachers to manage the team so they can’t enter the county cup or play any inter school football. I feel bad for my DS as because of covid year 7/8 football didn’t happen for him now this. He plays outside of school but would love to play for his school. I want to complain but feel what’s the point. Oh well just having a moan really.

I suspect it's an element of luck. Perhaps the PE staff are doing year 10/11 and a couple of year 7/8 form tutors volunteered to run a team for their year group.
Or they may have decided on the basis of which year groups had most kids who would be interested but weren't already playing out of school and would therefore benefit the most.
The sensible thing would be to ask whether there will be a switch around next term.
