Tiffin Girls - how many girls from W postcodes?

Hi all,

We’re thinking about putting DD in for the Tiffin Girls tests next year. We live in Chiswick and were wondering how many girls actually do attend from the W postcode parts of the designated area? (W3, W4, W5, W7, W13 are included looking at the admissions policy.)

Tried looking at heat maps etc but it’s hard to tell from those, as everyone is so spread out for grammar schools anyway. Anyone have any experience they could share? And is it worth the 45 minute commute?

Thank you so much in advance.

Have you tried posting on the elevenplusexams website. Some very knowledgeable Tiffin posters on there.

Thanks will do

I know a couple of girls in w4 who attend and also a boy at the boys school. Not many though I don't think. I'd do the journey with your daughter and see how she finds it. Some kids aren't phased at all by that kind of journey. My daughter's main priority was a very simple journey so that allowed us to rule out some options. Also need to think about how she'll cope with the unexpected...buses on diversion, terminating early, forgetting her PE kit (you're not going to want to hand deliver it from that distance). Some kids will take it in their stride but it could throw others into a panic.

Just to clarify...We don't have kids there but do have both family and friends with boys at Tiffin Boys. We live in Chiswick too. No real knowledge of the girls school I'm afraid.

This is really excellent advice; thank you!

From W postcode here and DD attends TGS currently. Journey is doable about 50 mins door to door on public transport. What are your travel options like?
