A level choices

Hi my ds has chosen biology, maths , chemistry and computing for his A levels. He is now thinking of swapping out computing for physics. Since he is thinking about pursuing a career in engineering.

He loves biology and chemistry at gcse and am wandering if this would be the same love at A level. Since I heard Chemistry is really hard.

It is compulsory to take 4 A levels in his school.

If any of your children have taken these A levels please can I ask your opinion on these A levels before he requests to swap one of them out.

Thank you for your advice in advance.

I think he's right that he should do physics not compsci for engineering. Check some uni websites for their entry requirements.

Maths and further maths make a good combination and are a tiny bit more straightforward than 2 separate subjects.

Im a bit shocked at the idea that biology is the hardest science a level, I would definitely say physics is harder! But my son has really enjoyed physics a level, mainly because of the teaching.

Thank you for your advice... my ds can't take further maths in his school since he didn't get a 9 in his gcse. He got an 8 and to be honest out of all the A levels I would say maths is his least favourite .

He has sent the email to change the A level ( waiting for confirmation) - fingers crossed he still loves all the sciences during his A levels.

Thank you
