The Grange Cheshire, academic scholarship

Does anyone have any knowledge of how many scholarships The Grange awards on average each year? What's the typical value of them?

Hoping someone can help. I am looking into the future at senior school for my children.

I'm hoping that someone with children at this school can help.
Does anyone know of any other north west indy schools offering academic (not means tested) scholarships of decent amounts?
Many thanks in advance.

Most academic scholarships are not worth a whole lot. Most offer 10% (some 25% max).

@Hersetta427 they usually state the range on their websites though. I just wondered if The Grange gave a bit more.

Scholarships are seen mostly as honorary so don't come with a huge fee reduction. Bursaries are where most independant schools spend more of their available pot of cash.

The fact they give 20% for music indicates the level of reduction you could expect .

@Hersetta427 I realise this, sadly. We don't qualify for a nursery anywhere. Just reading their website it seemed to me like they might offer a bit more than usual. 29 per cent would be ok though!

It seems like it is in their power to decide how much to give, but seeing as scholarships are open to everyone and are based purely on achievement in the entrance exams, I guess they won't want to give big fee reductions to people who expected to pay full fees anyway.

It might be worth contacting the schools to ask about means tested bursaries - they might offer higher bursaries to lower income students. We’ve decided against the Grange because of all the staff departures and we’re going to look at some other local independents-heard that Yorston Lodge is worth a look and Chester schools.
