We have recently had our 10 year old assessed for dyslexia, which was confirmed. His IQ was also in the top centiles for his age, and his verbal reasoning and reading comprehension was almost off the scale. He is hugely sociable, quite sporty but not competitive at all, and very excited by science.
I hadn't previously considered independent schools, because I thought he may not be able to keep up, but I now worry that it is lack of creative challenge in school that is holding him back. I would like to consider independent, but would appreciate advice; think he needs somewhere very laid back, with lots of resource for science, and lots of creativity.
We live in West Central London, would move house for the right school for him if we had to, but we're very happy where we are so local would be good.
Thank you
