SkaterGrrrrl · 27/05/2021 14:25

I watched with interest the information and support on this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/secondary/4177427-PART-3-SW-London-Girls-Indies-11-Results-Decisions-Panic-Over and wanted to start the same thread for South West London parents with daughters who will be applying for secondaries (independents and grammar) for places in year 7 in Sept 2022.

Where are you applying, how are the virtual open days going..... and to tutor or not to tutor?

@Mum201014

WHS post arrived before email
Got neither here!
SW17cleocat · 11/02/2022 10:22

HighRopes same here - neither. Wondering if she meant she got the post and hasn’t yet got the email, that’s how I read it. Aiyaya- hurry up already!

sugar001 · 11/02/2022 10:25

Dear all, just received yayyy from G&L. Yesterday was nayy from SPGS. My DD was totally heart broken, she is very keen to go. She asked me can I still try again at year 22? My heart was totally broken for her. G&L was our choice and she will probably go. We are awaiting post for WHS. We will release her KGS 10+ place on Monday. Congratulations all of your DD’s offer.

puzzledmom · 11/02/2022 10:34

@sugar001 we are in same position . Dd very disappointed with SPGS result. Can't wait to give her good news about G&L and City today.

travelturtle · 11/02/2022 10:52

Emanuel results have just come by post

Pigtastic · 11/02/2022 11:18

Good news here!

DD got offers from G&L, LU and Emanuel this morning, plus the PHS one on Monday.
We will have a busy next week deciding but for now we are really happy.

I hope everyone else is feeling relieved as well.

Pigtastic · 11/02/2022 11:20

We haven’t heard anything from KGS. How did the answer came: email or post?

swgeek · 11/02/2022 11:25

@Pigtastic I don't think KGS results are out yet, user above was talking about the deferred 10+ place. Why are they waiting so long? I even stalked the postman but no letters, seems like they will arrive tomorrow instead.

Some of my friends have heard from FHSS by now, we haven't.

Congrats to all the offer holders!!

refusetobeasheep · 11/02/2022 11:36

@pigtastic KGS were meant to post out yesterday so stalking the postman too! may be tomorrow though ...

SophyRivenhall · 11/02/2022 12:19

Congratulations to all the DDs (and their parents) who have received offers.

The wait continues for us: DD has been waitlisted for NHEHS, FHSS and PHS. She has an offer from St Augustine's and we are waiting for one more school. NHEHS is her first choice and following advice on this thread I have already been on the phone to the registrar to confirm this.

Could I just reiterate what a PP said-could you please release offers you won't be taking up as soon as you can so WLs start to move.

Emo76 · 11/02/2022 12:20

We didn't get Emanuel - left with one waiting list place and not sure where she will end up. Regretting not tutoring/hothousing, not applying to more schools, and realising with hindsight how brutal 11+ is for London day schools (and probably others)

Congrats to those with offers - I've always said if you're willing to pay for an education you will find one somewhere and we are really putting that theory to the test now!

HighRopes · 11/02/2022 12:30

WHS email has just come through.

We will release several offers this weekend, but I think dd will need a bit of time to make the final decision as we’ve been very strong on waiting to have a preference until she knew what was on the table, so we need to book in a couple of taster events.

Congrats to those with offers, and Flowers for those with waitlist offers. I’ve been there, and the uncertainty is really tough for the dds.

PricePoint · 11/02/2022 12:37

@HighRopes you have yo do what is best for you and your DD. Everyone is stressed and worried especially those on waitlists - understandably - but making the right choice is very important.

travelturtle · 11/02/2022 12:41

Does anyone know when we should expect Ibstock results? They said they would post today but also that they’d email so wondering it we should expect the email today or not.

puzzledmom · 11/02/2022 12:44

@SophyRivenhall we'll release NHES as soon as discussed with Dd.

Emo76 · 11/02/2022 13:09

@HighRopes of course, you must take your time to decide, it's a big decision!

SophyRivenhall · 11/02/2022 13:34

Thanks @puzzledmom and congratulations to your DD on all her excellent offers.

Pigtastic · 11/02/2022 14:14

KGS is out as well!

squirrelofsw19 · 11/02/2022 14:49

Ooh Pigtastic you are quick off the mark. Just found DD’s Emanuel and KGS offers in the spam. No postal evidence yet though and nothing from WHS which I think might bode badly.

HighRopes · 11/02/2022 14:54

The WHS email has zillions of attachments - some automatically downloaded into tiny letters, some didn’t and had to be clicked open. It took me a little while to find the offer letter, I was a bit ‘well, it must be an offer if they’ve sent me the direct debit mandate’ to start off with! So it may well have either bounced or be taking a while to get through.

LAgirl · 11/02/2022 15:15

@SophyRivenhall we will release PHS and FHSS over the weekend too, so hopefully your DD will get into her top school! Just need to make sure DD is 100% happy with her choice before releasing!

LAgirl · 11/02/2022 15:17

@HighRopes did you have a waitlist experience at SPGS? Would you mind if I DM you, if yes? Thank you xx

No, it was WHS waitlist last time. Sorry.

FiloPasty · 11/02/2022 15:27

Been following this thread as I went through last year, the waiting is brutal.
One note about wait lists though, giving up a spot won’t necessarily mean it will go to wait list straight away as most of the schools over offer. I’d advise emailing the school if you are waitlisted, if it is your top choice and letting them know that. They probably won’t tell you now where you are on the wait list but will in a couple of weeks when they’ve collated everything.

LAgirl · 11/02/2022 15:40

@HighRopes ah well, thank you. All the best with the decision making! x
