Top 10 co-ed, boys, girls boarding schools in UK

If money and location were no issue which co-ed, boys and girls private schools do people consider in the top 10 (academically) outside of London?

I am looking for schools for DC (1 boy, 1 girl) for Year 9. We are outside the SE but would consider any location as we could relocate for the right school as we would prefer them to be day pupils.

So for girls I'm guessing top 10 would be WA and CLC and then where?
For boys Winchester, Radley? where else?
And for co-ed I find it really hard to work out...

My experience of being a day girl at a boarding school was not positive. Day pupils felt excluded and were very much in the minority. So much happens at weekends when you’re not there. The best system I think is what CLC do (or at least did in my day) which was to have separate houses for day pupils so you could make friends for out of school. I didn’t go there and the system of mixing everyone together wasn’t great.

Almost everyone boards at Winchester too OP. You have to live very close to be able to be a day pupil (though I think they are going to have day pupils soon in the 6th form).

In this day and age, maybe cross-reference your list against the Everyone's Invited website...

I'd be asking questions about safeguarding and rape culture first, cricket second.

I don’t know about which school is really top of top at cricket but if you want genuine co-ed 50/50 and boarding school with lots of day 70 day/30 boarding and top academics then Sevenoaks School, for sure. Would suit your DD from description, suits naturally bright and outgoing children. Same applies to Wellington.
However, if you are moving for school personally I would be driven by the location eg Shrewsbury and Canterbury are lovely places to live. Oundle area good value for money. Cambridge/Oxford much more expensive. Sevenoaks very expensive - although Weald of Kent villages slightly better. Again Surrey (Wellington) quite expensive. Winchester eye watering expensive and co-Ed only sixth form for now but top school for the right boy.

Thank you for all the helpful suggestions. Certainly Winchester would be fantastic if the budget could stretch to boarding there for our son.

Lots of food for thought, thank you.
