Cheshire East and West SEN support in mainstream high schools

Hi.

We are really disappointed with my son's current school and are looking to move, but keen to not go through the same experience again. Can be flexible with location.

Can anyone recommend or let me know schools to avoid in East or West Cheshire. Could potentially look at Lancashire as well. Ideally with a good or outstanding ofsted, but good SEN provision / SENCO is a must. One school I considered was Holmes Chapel, but read someone say it was one to avoid, so any other opinions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is quite difficult to answer your question because it is so general in nature.
Many schools in Cheshire west and east are good schools and are full. So if son is already of secondary age and you are moving to an area on assumption that you will be able to get a place, then you have to recognise you will only potentially get a place in a full school by going to appeal. It is likely that you will be offered a place at a secondary school, which may not suit your son's needs.
What is the extent of your son's special needs? Does he have an EHC Plan which would make it far easier to get him into a suitable school.
If you want to private message me with some more details i might be able to help more.

I don't seem to be able to send a private message. It may be because I am using the ap.
