Hi friends,
what is the difference? Are they same or harder: easy. Thanks in advance

I understand that EDEXCEL is broader in the content but possibly less deep than AQA, in sciences at least.
not sure about other subjects. I know someone who had done AQA Science GCSE and go not go on to study EDEXCEL science A level in another school, as deemed too "easy". I don't have further details to back it up though

IGCSEs are not normally offered in state schools. They are often used in private schools and for students following the English curriculum abroad.

The syllabus for each subject varies with each exam board. Edexcel offer standard GCSEs as well as the international ones.

Which are more difficult is open to discussion depending who you ask.

My subject is MFL and I have experience of both AQA GCSE and edexcel iGCSE.

The syllabi and exams are fairly different, tho the topics are broadly similar.

iGCSE MFL is all in target language while some questions in reading and listening AQA are in English (so test understanding in a different way! Not harder or easier).

There is a grammar task in iGCSE which I think is tricky. Otoh the essays are more scaffolded in iGCSE.

There is an F tier paper for AQA so that makes a difference - I think F is easier than iGCSE and H is harder.

AQA GCSE is definitely a better prep for AQA A level in MFL, for one because it includes translation.
