CLSG Commute SW London

Is anyone with a DD travelling to CLSG from SW London? Richmond/Barnes/Mortlake? Or Hammersmith?

I know someone who travels from Kensington. Seems to be OK about it.

Our DD used to travel from Fulham to CLSG, door-to-door about 40 minutes. She has classmates who travel from Hammersmith, Barons Court, Parsons Green and Putney.

Found this on another thread - map of where girls travel from and how many, so widespread as so sought after:

Where are you living? Based on personal experience, with Hammersmith Bridge closed, I would use Citymapper app and add 10 mins or so for missed connections.

@Summertime2 planning to move either to hammersmith or east sheen. Based on whichever option is convenient for my DD

East Sheen has notoriously poor transport links: a few buses and Mortlake train station. That is one of its 'USPs'! To get to CLSG would take well over an hour. Hammersmith to CLSG would be less onerous but still a long way. With the possibility of your daughter's social life being centred on East London/Essex.

Summertime2 · 12/02/2021 22:34

If you are moving then I would have thought you definitely want to be in Hammersmith not E Sheen.

Lots of CLSG students live in Hammersmith area. Direct tube to CLSG and you normally can get a seat so can do some work etc on the train + have others to travel with.

East Sheen is possible but a bit on the long side. Easiest would be Mortlake to Waterloo then bus.

BlackRainbow2020 · 13/02/2021 18:30

@itinerant42
Hammersmith seems like a feasible option. Taking a bus from Waterloo peak time might be too much for a 11year old. One tube journey sounds do-able
